Stan Hywet Wedding | Natalie and Nolan’s Garden Celebration
Natalie and Nolan planned their wedding with intention, personality, and heart. From the start, they knew the right venue would shape the entire experience and they absolutely nailed it. A Stan Hywet wedding in late May is nothing short of magical. With gardens in full bloom, vibrant peonies and roses, and meticulously maintained grounds, it’s one of the most breathtaking wedding venues in Northeast Ohio.
A Perfect Spring Day at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens
Their wedding day was the kind photographers dream about: mild temperatures, sunshine, and a soft breeze floating through the Tudor-style estate. Natalie got ready in the historic carriage house, joined by her bridesmaids dressed in soft blue floor length gowns.
She wore a long, fitted gown with a lace bodice overlay and a flowing chapel length tulle train that shimmered in the light. Her auburn hair was loosely pulled back and accented with a delicate crystal and pearl hairpiece, adding just the right touch of sparkle.
Natalie’s bouquet was a vibrant mix of coral and cream peonies and roses, accented with pops of blue to mirror the colors blooming in the gardens around them.
A Private First Look and Romantic Vista Ceremony
Before the ceremony, Natalie and Nolan shared an emotional first look by the reflecting pool behind the manor. Nolan’s reaction said it all. He was completely overwhelmed with joy seeing Natalie for the first time.
With time to explore the grounds, we took advantage of the beautiful spring light and photographed the couple in some of Stan Hywet’s most iconic spots. The peony garden was in peak bloom, the overlook gave us sweeping views of the estate, and the rose garden, filled with irises and seasonal color, was the perfect setting for timeless portraits.
The ceremony took place on the Vista, just past the tea houses and overlooking the lagoon. Surrounded by nature and soft birdsong, the scene was peaceful and romantic, an ideal location for such a personal moment.
Elegant Reception with a Playful Twist
Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception near the carriage house. The décor was elegant and simple, with each table featuring a trio of vases filled with bright garden flowers to match the day’s cheerful color palette.
Natalie and Nolan brought their love of classic games to life with a game themed reception. From Jenga and Connect Four to Battleship and Operation, the game table was a big hit with guests of all ages. The couple even had a custom made corn hole set that sparked some fun competition, including a round with the bride herself.
Unique Details and Sweet Endings
Their guestbook was one of the most creative we’ve seen, a caricature book where guests could draw themselves and write a note to the couple. To continue the playful theme, each name card included a riddle on the back, encouraging guests to interact and share laughs.
Natalie and Nolan also have a serious sweet tooth. Dessert featured custom labeled chocolates with their initials, N & N, an assortment of beautifully decorated cupcakes, and a full service ice cream bar complete with all the toppings.
A live band kept the energy high and the dance floor full throughout the night. From heartfelt speeches and happy tears to nonstop dancing and big laughs, this Stan Hywet wedding was unforgettable.
